South Tyneside Council's seafront fireworks are the borough's Bonfire Night event, and they are free with no tickets or booking. The fireworks are fired from behind the skate park on Sea Road, next to Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, and there are two separate displays — one at 6pm and a second at 8pm.\n\nThe pleasure park itself usually opens from midday with free admission, and you pay only for the rides and arcades, which makes an easy afternoon of it before the first display.\n\nThe seafront gets very busy. In past years people have spread out along Lawe Top, South Marine Park, The Leas and the Littlehaven and Sandhaven promenades, and the council has opened extra parking at Bents Park. Sparklers and personal fireworks are not allowed, and it is not a night to bring the dog.
