About 3rd South Shields Sea Scout Group

The 3rd South Shields Sea Scout Group is one of the town's oldest Scouting groups, with more than a century of history and around 130 young members aged 6 to 18. As a Sea Scout group it puts water activities at the heart of its programme, and its sections meet from South Shields Sailing Club on River Drive, overlooking the mouth of the Tyne. The group runs the full range of Scouting sections: Beavers for ages 6 to 8, Cubs for 8 to 10 and a half, Scouts for 10 and a half to 14, and Explorers for 14 to 18, alongside the wider camps, badges and community activities that Scouting is known for. Like all Scout groups it is run by volunteers and is part of South Tyneside Scouts, and popular sections can carry waiting lists, so it is worth registering interest early. Parents can find the group, check availability and register through the national Scouts join page or by contacting the group directly through its website. The group also welcomes adult volunteers, from regular section helpers to occasional behind-the-scenes support, with full training provided.
