About Horsley Hill Amateur Boxing Club

Horsley Hill Amateur Boxing Club is one of South Shields' longest-established boxing clubs, founded in the Horsley Hill area in 1972. It trains at the Temple Park Centre on John Reid Road in NE34 and is open to anyone who wants to keep fit, learn boxing skills, or box competitively at amateur level. Classes run through the week and cater for all ages and abilities, from complete beginners and keep-fit enthusiasts to open-class amateur boxers.

As an amateur boxing club, training takes place within a governed, safety-first framework, so members benefit from proper coaching, medicals and matched bouts should they choose to compete. Because it is based at a leisure centre there is ample parking, and it is easy to combine training with other activities at Temple Park.
