About St Michael's Dental Practice

St Michael's Dental Practice is a long-established dental practice at 158 Westoe Road in South Shields, founded in 1913 by Ernest Spencer and named after the local church. It is the longest-running dental practice in South Tyneside and offered private care only until the creation of the NHS in 1948, after which it provided both NHS and private treatment. Today it delivers general, cosmetic and specialist dentistry including routine check-ups, hygiene services, teeth whitening, dental implants, children's dentistry, orthodontics and facial aesthetics. The practice holds memberships with bodies including the British Dental Association and the Association of Dental Implantology UK.
