Teen Art Session: Create the Northern Lights in Pastels
A guided pastel art workshop for teenagers at The Word, creating atmospheric Northern Lights artwork during the Christmas holidays.
About This Event
The Teen Art Session at The Word in South Shields runs on Tuesday 22 December 2026 from 4pm to 6pm, with teenagers learning to create a Northern Lights scene using soft pastels. The holiday workshop offers a creative, screen-free couple of hours in the Christmas break. Participants are guided through blending and layering pastel techniques to capture the colour and movement of the aurora, leaving with their own finished piece of artwork. All materials are provided, and the session is pitched at a teenage age group. Tickets are £2 per person and booking is required. The Word is in the Market Place in central South Shields.
