About This Event

The Black Corner Band is a folk group from Cleadon and Boldon in South Tyneside, formed in 2017. The six-piece line-up features accordion, vocals, guitar, mandolin, bass and percussion. They are regulars on the local folk and Irish music circuit. They perform at Arbeia Roman Fort as part of the free Tunes in June live music series. Doors open at 1.15pm with donations welcomed, and visitors are invited to bring their own picnics or buy refreshments from the pop-up coffee van. It is a lovely way to enjoy live folk music in the atmospheric setting of a 1,600-year-old Roman fort overlooking the mouth of the Tyne.
