About Mortimer Community College

Mortimer Community College is a community secondary school on Reading Road in South Shields. At its Ofsted inspection in January 2025 the school was judged Good for behaviour and attitudes and Good for personal development, while quality of education and leadership and management were judged as requiring improvement. Under the current inspection framework Ofsted no longer gives a single overall rating for state schools. The college emphasises pride, respect, ambition and resilience among its students and serves the wider South Shields area.
