About Dicksons
Dicksons is a family-run South Shields butcher and food producer trading since 1953 and widely regarded as the spiritual home of the saveloy dip. The business is the region's largest family-run maker of meat and food products, with more than 30 shops across the North East selling saveloy dips, pease pudding, sausages, pork pies, hand-rolled pastries, sandwiches and breakfasts. Bakers produce fresh pastry daily using a recipe passed down through the family for nearly seventy years. Its Laygate branch is one of many local outlets, and the brand has become an enduring part of South Tyneside's food heritage.
