About Lee's Family Bakers
Lee's Family Bakers is a long-established traditional bakery on the corner of Stanhope Road and Olive Street in South Shields, opened by Ken Lee in February 1971 and now run by the fourth generation of the family. It is one of the last traditional bakers' shops left in the town, known for freshly made bread, cakes, pastries and sourdough at reasonable prices. In 2010 the bakery was placed third in the UK 'Confectioner of the Year' competition. Locals regularly praise its friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
