South Shields Town Hall is a Grade II listed civic building on Westoe Road, operated by South Tyneside Council and licensed for wedding and civil ceremonies. Built in 1910, the Edwardian building features an iconic clock tower, a grand sweeping stone staircase overlooked by a stained glass window, high ceilings, marble fireplaces, ornate stained glass, and decorative plasterwork. The Reception Room accommodates up to 120 guests through original double wooden doors, while the more intimate Ante Room seats up to 50. The venue also hosts naming ceremonies, vow renewals and other special occasions, with registrar fees charged separately from room hire.
