About The Clifton

The Clifton is a family-owned Victorian coffee shop and boutique bed and breakfast on Ocean Road in South Shields, a short walk from the seafront and town centre. The coffeeshop serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, with a drawing room used for afternoon teas and functions, a library room and a terraced area for alfresco dining. It has been voted the town's number one coffee shop and holds a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence. The property featured on Channel 4's Four in a Bed in 2015 and offers guest accommodation across its rooms, having recently added keyless entry, room safes and USB charging.
