About The Maltings

The Maltings is a tap house and micro-brewery on Claypath Lane in South Shields, home to the Jarrow Brewery on the ground floor. Its first-floor bar serves around fifteen changing guest ales alongside beers brewed on the premises by Jarrow, complemented by real ciders and a well-stocked bar. The pub is also known for its first-floor Thai restaurant, where the chef cooks home-style Thai dishes to order from fresh ingredients from Tuesday to Saturday. A regular events programme includes a pub quiz and themed nights, making it a popular spot for both real-ale drinkers and diners just off the town centre.
