The Steamboat
Multi-award-winning CAMRA Pub of the Year in the Mill Dam conservation area. Seven ever-changing cask ales and ciders on handpump with a ship-themed interior.
About The Steamboat
The Steamboat is a multi-award-winning traditional pub in the historic Mill Dam conservation area of South Shields, close to the River Tyne. Housed in a Grade II listed building with a distinctive ship-themed interior, it is celebrated for its cask ale, pouring an ever-changing range of beers from independent and microbreweries across seven handpumps plus boxed real ciders. The pub has been named CAMRA Sunderland and South Tyneside Pub of the Year many times, including a run of wins between 2008 and 2018 and further runner-up finishes in recent years, and it received a Gold Award as part of CAMRA's 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2021. A firm favourite with real-ale enthusiasts.
