FabLab: Make Your Own T-Shirt (Vinyl Cutting), the Word
A summer holiday FabLab session for ages 8–12 where children design and vinyl-cut their own T-shirt at The Word.
About This Event
In this FabLab session at The Word, children design a graphic on the computer, cut it from heat-transfer vinyl using the makerspace's cutter, and press it onto a T-shirt to take home. It is a satisfying, start-to-finish introduction to the kind of digital-making that FabLab is built around, and everyone leaves with something they made themselves. The Word's FabLab in South Shields is equipped with vinyl and laser cutters, 3D printers and a T-shirt press, and its holiday programme runs beginner-friendly sessions for young makers. This one is pitched at ages 8–12 with all materials included; book ahead through The Word.
