About This Event
Volunteer guides bring the story of Arbeia to life on this free guided tour of the Roman fort at the eastern end of Hadrian's Wall. Learn about the granary complex that supplied the Wall's garrison, explore the reconstructed gatehouse and commanding officer's house, and hear stories of the soldiers and civilians who lived here nearly 2,000 years ago. Tours last approximately one hour. Entry to Arbeia is free; donations welcome.
