About Minchella and Co
Minchella & Co is a South Shields seafront institution that has been making ice cream in its own factory since 1942. The family business is best known for its freshly made ice cream, which won the ICA National Ice Cream Championship in 2018-2019, and for a specialist coffee blend created with roasters. It operates from the elevated walkway and amphitheatre overlooking the coast, as well as a premises at 9-11 Ocean Road. Gift vouchers are available. A long-standing fixture of the town's seafront, Minchella & Co remains a popular destination for a seaside treat and a coffee with panoramic views over the shore.
