The popular Proms in the Park returns to Bents Park on the South Shields seafront for a free afternoon of classical music performed by the South Tyneside Orchestra with guest vocalists. A family-friendly event with deckchairs, picnic blankets, and flag-waving encouraged. Free entry — one of the best-value cultural events in the North East summer calendar. The Bents Park setting overlooking the sea is hard to beat.
