South Tyneside Summer Parade
The Borough's annual Summer Parade returns — a colourful procession of community groups, schools, and voluntary organisations through the town centre to the seafront.
About This Event
The This is South Tyneside Summer Parade returns on Saturday 5 July, kicking off at 1pm from South Shields Market Square. The parade makes its way along King Street and Ocean Road towards the seafront at Bents Park, where an afternoon of family fun activities awaits. This year's theme is "Wild and Wonderful — Colours of Our Community", celebrating the vibrance and diversity of the borough through colourful costumes created from reused and recycled materials. Local community groups, schools, and voluntary organisations from across South Tyneside all take part. The event is free to attend and is funded and supported by Arts Council England, delivered in partnership with The Cultural Spring.
